I Day Summer School "Healthy Aging Challenges in BIH"

Today, the summer school organized by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zenica under the name Summer School "Healthy Aging Challenges in BIH" started. The opening ceremony was held at 10:00 a.m. in the amphitheater of the Faculty of Medicine and continued with lectures by eminent experts.

On behalf of the faculty, the dean, Prof. Harun Hodžić, who also opened the summer school, addressed the participants, while the participants were greeted by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the ZDK Draženka Subašić, and on behalf of the University of Zenica, Prof. Fuad Hadžikadunić, Vice-Rector for Scientific – research work.

Prof. Dr. Mirza Oruč, vice dean for scientific and research work of the Faculty of Medicine presented the program of the summer school as well as the activities of the Faculty of Medicine in international and research activities.

Dr. Erwin Cooreman, director of the WHO office for Bosnia and Herzegovina, gave the introductory lecture on Healthy Aging in WHO perspective.

 

The second lecture was held by Dr. Goran Čerkez, Assistant Minister of Health, FBIH, on the topic of Healthy Aging.

In the introductory lecture, Prof. Dr. Almir Badnjević, director of the research institute Verlab, also addressed the participants.

Two workshops were held in the afternoon part:

"Practical anatomy" workshop led by Adnan Mujezinović, PhD, and Kenan Galijašević, PhD, assistant professor.

 

The second workshop on "Intercultural Nursing" was held by Prof. Judith Pelican from the University of Applied Science from Groningen, the Netherlands.

During this summer school, a large number of participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Netherlands, Serbia, Greece, Belgium and other countries will have the opportunity to listen to interesting lectures and participate in various workshops.
