The World Health Organization (WHO) Country Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina in partnership with
the Faculty of Medicine, Zenica University, will host a panel discussion which will consist of two parts:
(i) lecture delivered by Ms Zdena Šarić, one of 50 global ambassadors of the United Nations Healthy
Aging initiative; and (ii) discussion on the topic of aging, promotion of healthy lifestyles, and social
network for aging population.
Ms Šarić is one of the UN Healthy Aging 50: Leaders transforming the world to be a better place to
grow old and an inspirational champion who showcases what is already possible in the area of healthy
ageing. The lecture is intended for students, youth, local community, members of NGOs, local
authorities and healthcare professionals.
The subsequent public debate will feature some key stakeholders in the fields of social protection,
healthy aging. During this debate, the position of elderly people - many of whom are combating
serious mental health issues, without a supporting network - will be stressed.
