COMPETITION FOR ADMISSION OF STUDENTS IN THE FIRST YEAR OF THE II (SECOND) CYCLE OF STUDIES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ZENICA IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2025/2026 (Master's degree study)
Based on Article 95 of the Law on Higher Education ("Official Gazette of the Zenica-Doboj Canton", No.: 12/22, 15/24-Authentic Interpretation and 5/25), the Decision of the Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton on granting approval to the Plan for Enrolling Students in the First Year of the Second Cycle of Studies at the University of Zenica in the Academic Year 2025/2026, No.: 02-34-11866/25 of 13.06.2025 and the Decision of the Senate of the University of Zenica, No.: 01-02-5-2934/25 of 16.06.2025, the University of Zenica hereby announces
COMPETITION FOR THE ENROLLMENT OF STUDENTS IN THE FIRST YEAR OF THE II (SECOND) CYCLE OF STUDIES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ZENICA IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2025/2026
(Master's degree)
The competition for student enrollment in the first year of the II (second) cycle of studies at the University of Zenica (Master's study) in the academic year 2025/2026 runs from August 25 to September 30, 2025.
Faculties of the University of Zenica will provide complete information on the place and time of document submission on their notice boards and faculty websites.
Admission of accepted students to the faculties of the University of Zenica will be done according to plan faculty in accordance with the adopted Plan for Enrolling Students in the First Year of the II (Second) Cycle of Studies at the University of Zenica in the Academic Year 2025/2026.
The right to participate in the Competition is open to citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, foreign citizens and stateless persons who have completed the first cycle of studies (undergraduate studies) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as candidates who have completed the first cycle of studies (undergraduate studies) outside Bosnia and Herzegovina, and for whom, after the recognition or nostrification procedure, it has been determined that they have completed the appropriate education for continued education.
Exceptionally, candidates who completed their first cycle of studies (undergraduate studies) outside Bosnia and Herzegovina have the right to participate in the Competition even before the procedure for recognition or validation of the diploma of completed first cycle of studies (undergraduate studies) abroad has been completed, by submitting appropriate evidence of the initiation of the aforementioned procedures. The aforementioned candidates may enroll after the procedure for recognition or validation of education completed abroad has been completed, no later than the beginning of the 2025/2026 academic year.
Admission and enrollment of students in the first year of study are carried out by special committees appointed by the deans of faculties of the University of Zenica.
The faculty will publish the ranking list and the list of accepted candidates on the bulletin board and the faculty website after they have been verified by the competent authorities no later than five days from the closing date of the Competition.
The founder will bear the costs of full-time studies in the academic year 2025/2026 only for students who achieved an average grade of 8 (eight) and above in the first (first) cycle of studies in accordance with the Decision of the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton on approving the amount of tuition fees and other fees paid by students of the second (second) cycle of studies at the University of Zenica in the academic year 2025/2026.
Exceptionally, the Founder bears the costs of regular studies for students who achieved an average grade of less than 8 (eight) in the first (first) cycle of studies, if they are students from the following categories: children of martyrs, killed, deceased, missing defenders; children of killed, deceased, missing recipients of war recognition or decorations; children of deceased war invalids and deceased demobilized defenders; members of the Roma nationality; persons with disabilities over 70%; persons without parental care who are residents of institutions for the accommodation of children without parental care in the Zenica-Doboj Canton; persons whose parents/guardians are beneficiaries of social assistance, and who have their residence in the Zenica-Doboj Canton.
In the event of a larger number of candidates applying, preference will be given to candidates with a higher average grade achieved during the first (first) cycle of studies.
Candidates who apply for the Competition for admission to the first year of the II (second) study cycle (master's degree) attach the following documents:
- biography,
- a diploma or certificate of graduation and completion of the first (first) cycle of studies (undergraduate studies) which is valued at 240 or 180 ECTS points,
- birth certificate,
- certificate of citizenship,
- certificate of success achieved during the first (first) cycle of studies (undergraduate studies) with an overview of all subjects and grades (diploma supplement),
- a statement of acceptance of the obligation to pay the costs of the II (second) cycle of studies (master's study) only for students who enroll as full-time self-financing and part-time students.
Candidates must submit the documents listed under items b), c), d), e) and f) in original or certified photocopy (with a certification no older than 6 (six) months from the date of publication of the Competition).
Candidates who benefit from the rights under the Law on Supplementary Rights of Defenders and Members of Their Families ("Official Gazette of the Zenica-Doboj Canton", No. 15/24) must, in addition to the previously mentioned documents, also submit the following documentation:
- certified house list,
- income certificates of household members,
- certified copy of the identity card,
- confirmation of the status of members of the military population and their family members.
A defense attorney and a member of his/her family, who is a full-time student, have the right of priority under equal conditions when enrolling in faculties of the University of Zenica, in accordance with Article 22, paragraph (1) of the Law on Supplementary Rights of Defense Attorneys and Members of Their Families ("Official Gazette of Zenica-Doboj Canton", No. 15/24) and the Regulation on Priority in Education of Children of Defense Attorneys ("Official Gazette of Zenica-Doboj Canton", No. 1/25).
For the enrollment of candidates from the categories: children of martyrs, killed, deceased, missing defenders; children of killed, deceased, missing recipients of war recognition or decorations; children of deceased war invalids and deceased demobilized defenders; members of the Roma nationality; persons with disabilities over 70%; persons without parental care who are wards of institutions for the accommodation of children without parental care in the Zenica-Doboj Canton; persons whose parents/guardians are beneficiaries of social assistance, and who have their residence in the Zenica-Doboj Canton, and who apply for full-time studies (financed by the Founder) and pass the entrance exam, or do not achieve the required number of points according to general and special criteria at faculties where an entrance exam is not foreseen, and do not enter the quota foreseen by the Enrollment Plan, the Cantonal Government shall issue a special decision on granting consent to increase the number of students for enrollment. The decision on granting consent to increase the number of students for enrollment shall be issued based on the request of the University of Zenica.
Candidates for enrollment in the first year of the II (second) cycle of studies at the faculties of the University of Zenica in the academic year 2025/2026 shall prove their status as members of the Roma population by submitting one of the following documents showing their membership in the Roma population: school certificate, birth certificate, marriage certificate, voter registration certificate or some other document containing information about their membership in the Roma population.
Candidates for enrollment in the first year of the II (second) cycle of studies at the faculties of the University of Zenica in the academic year 2025/2026 shall prove their status as a person with a disability exceeding 70% by submitting a document from a competent medical institution.
