The Development of Research & Development Strategies and Centers in Bosnia and Herzegovina (RDBIH) project, funded through the Erasmus+ CBHE programme (101177753-RDBIH-ERASMUS-EDU-2024-CBHE), aims to transform the research landscape of BiH over four years. Led by the University of Novi Sad, with partners from the EU and local communities, the initiative focuses on developing modern research and development strategies aligned with European standards, establishing six research and development (R&D) centres at leading universities and creating a digital network for collaboration and knowledge exchange.
This project addresses key challenges, such as the lack of research infrastructure, limited research output and weak collaboration between academia and industry. By combating brain drain and fostering applied research, the project will improve scientific relevance, societal impact and labour market relevance. It also includes capacity-building activities to train researchers and staff to effectively manage new R&D centres.
Project Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina aims to create a sustainable research ecosystem that supports innovation, economic growth and global competitiveness of universities in BiH. By fostering partnerships between academia, industry and policy, as well as establishing an inclusive digital platform, the initiative will contribute to the country's transition towards a knowledge-based and sustainable society.
