Completion of the additional education project in the field of Occupational Therapy
In the past one year, the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zenica - Study Program Health Care has actively implemented the Project of additional education in the field of Occupational Therapy for nurse technicians in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Health, Association XY and all under the auspices of the Government of Switzerland, which is also the main financier of the Mental Health Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina. During this process, 65 nurses-technicians completed education in accordance with the Rulebook on additional education of nurses/technicians in the field of Occupational Therapy of the FBIH with the aim of acquiring knowledge in this field and applying it in practice. At the ceremony held on 10.10.2017. in Hotel Hills in Sarajevo, and with the aim of promoting and celebrating World Mental Health Day (October 10), participants who successfully completed the training were awarded certificates. The certificates were handed over by the assistant to the Federal Minister of Health, prim. Ph.D. Goran Čerkez and Associate Professor Harun Hodžić Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. The importance of this project is reflected in the fact that all Mental Health Centers, clinics dealing with mental health, as well as other institutions have received certified and trained experts in the field of occupational therapy who will implement this in their daily work. The ceremony was attended by more than 150 participants from FBiH, and in addition to the awarding of certificates, the presentation of the results of the Mental Health Project in BiH was also carried out. The introductory lecture on the importance of mental health in the workplace was held by the head of the Office of the World Health Organization in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Victor Olsavszky. This is one of a series of implemented international projects at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zenica.
