Final conference of the Mental Health Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina
In the period from 08 to 10 June 2023. The final conference of the Mental Health Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina was held in the Hills Hotel in Sarajevo. The project that for the past 13 years aimed to improve mental health in Bosnia and Herzegovina in all segments by developing and strengthening all sectors of society and the health system in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zenica was an active participant in all project activities and, of course, fully supported all elements of the project's implementation, especially in the area of developing educational programs and educational activities.
In accordance with its contribution and participation in the project, the Federal Ministry of Health FBIH presented a number of certificates of appreciation for participation in the project, and we are pleased that the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zenica was the only institution to receive a certificate of thanks from the Federal Ministry of Health. The certificate of thanks was received on behalf of the Faculty of Medicine by Mirza Oruč, associate dean for scientific and research work of our faculty. In addition to assistant professor Oruč, assistant professor Belma Šljivo MA took an active part in the conference.
This is certainly proof of the dedication and effort of the Faculty of Medicine in Zenica in improving the work and health of the population in our country. Goran Čerkez, MD, presented the certificate of thanks on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Health.
The mental health project in BIH was implemented by the Institute for Population and Development, the legal successor of Association XY in BIH with a large network of its partners. The participation of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zenica certainly enriched experiences and improved knowledge and created preconditions for development in the future.
